Match the verification to the request
Organizations sometimes require a person’s identity to be confirmed on a prescribed form, a signature to be witnessed or an identification copy to be certified. These are different services. Provide the form and its instructions so the office can determine what the requesting organization expects.
Bring the right identification
Prepare current government-issued photo identification and check that the names on the application and identification agree. Tell the office about differences in spelling, a previous surname or an expired document before your appointment. The recipient may have its own list of acceptable documents and rules for the person who verifies them.
- The complete identity verification form and written instructions.
- The original identification requested by the recipient.
- Any application reference and supporting name-change records.
- Contact details for the organization if a requirement needs clarification.
At the appointment
The authorized person will review the identification and the requested verification. Leave the verifier’s declaration, signature, stamp and date blank until instructed. Do not paste a notary’s signature or seal into a form downloaded online. If an identification copy is required, bring the original so it can be inspected in person.
Confirm the delivery format
Ask whether the recipient needs a wet-ink original, a certified copy, a scan of the completed form or a document sent directly by the verifier. A service acceptable to one bank, regulator or overseas institution may not meet another organization’s checklist.
Arrange the correct service
Certified true copies are available in person only at Notaryspace. For other identity checks, contact our office to confirm suitability and attendance arrangements. Describe your request before sending identity documents through general email. Contact the office or browse document services to choose your next step.
