UAE Embassy attestation / MOFA guidance
Preparing documents for the United Arab Emirates (UAE)? Choose the guidance for your document's origin and submission location. The Ottawa process and the UAE-based services below have different requirements.
From Canada: Ottawa Embassy and VFS submission
The Ottawa payment manual describes signing in to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) with UAE Pass, creating an overseas attestation order for Canada through VFS, paying online and keeping the application reference and receipt. Follow VFS instructions for document submission or collection after payment. Confirm the required Canadian authentication before applying.
VFS Global Canada: UAE attestation applications and submission guidance · UAE Embassy in Ottawa: official information
For application, payment or delivery questions, the manual lists VFS at +1 437 889 2082 or [email protected]. Check the VFS Canada portal for current contact details and charges.
UAE MOFA digital documents: pilot described in the user guide
The MOFA user guide describes a digital pilot for UAE-issued documents with a verifiable QR code, barcode or reference number. This eligibility does not establish that a Canadian-issued document qualifies. Check the current MOFA service to see which issuing authorities and document types are supported.
Within the UAE: courier procedures for individuals and businesses
The guide separately explains UAE-based applications: choose the appropriate individual or business service, provide document details, pay the applicable attestation and courier charges, then arrange collection and return. Required prior certifications must be completed before submission. These UAE courier instructions are separate from the Ottawa/VFS Canada route.
UAE MOFA: current attestation requirements and official user guides
These brief summaries draw on the Ottawa payment manual and MOFA Documents Attestation user guide supplied for this page. Follow the official links for current eligibility, fees and submission instructions.
