What is a Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor (PPTC 132)?
This declaration is used when you need a guarantor for a travel document application but cannot find a suitable one. It allows you to legally affirm the reason(s) you don’t have a guarantor and proceed without one.
What you’ll need to include
- Your personal information (full legal name, address, date of birth, place of birth)
- All addresses you’ve lived at in the past five years
- Your occupations within the last five years
- Two references (not relatives) who have known you for at least two years
- Your reason(s) for not having a guarantor
- The two identification documents you present at signing
- Your signature (signed in front of an authorized official)
Signing under oath or affirmation
You must sign the declaration in the presence of a person authorized to administer oaths/affirmations (for example, a notary public or commissioner for oaths). You will swear or affirm that the information is true.
